Pregabalin is used to treat pain caused by fibromyalgia, or nerve pain in people with diabetes (diabetic neuropathy), herpes zoster (post-herpetic neuralgia), orspinal cord injury. Pregabalin is also used with other medications to treat partial onset seizures in adults and children who are at least 4 years old.
Pregabalin, marketed under the brand name Lyrica among others, is a medication used to treat epilepsy, neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, and generalized anxiety disorder.[10][11][12] Its use for epilepsy is as an add-on therapy for partial seizures with or without secondary generalization in adults.[13] Some off-label uses of pregabalin include restless leg syndrome,[14] prevention of migraines,[15] anxiety disorders,[15] and alcohol withdrawal.[16] When used before surgery, pregabalin improves pain but results in greater sedation and visual disturbances
